14 miles? check!

Today was FABULOUS. I had my 14 mile run scheduled with S. I was a little worried since my cold was still lingering, but excited to see what my knee could handle. It was dreary out, and rained for the first half of the run. Although I went through a ton of kleenex, felt winded, and had to walk a bunch, my knee felt awesome.

S & I had a lot to catch up on, since we did our runs separate last weekend. I love having someone to vent frustrations too, and troubleshoot through issues while getting in a good workout. At a few points, she got a little ahead of me when I had to pause and walk because of my breathing, but I always caught her when I picked it back up. We ran laps around Walgreens to get to 14 miles since the Garmin showed my pre-mapped route to be a little short. I realized that this is the first time I've run in the rain. That is, if you don't count the sleet/snow/rain mixture at Disney last year. Bonus? I just realized I've never run this far before. I've never run more than a Half Marathon, woohoo!

Afterwards, we headed to Starbucks for our usual post-run treat. I have never calculated WW points for our usuals before, but thought I would before heading out this morning. I always get a non-fat peppermint steamer. They don't have steamers listed on the website, but the Latte is 5 points, I figured it was the same. My usual sandwich is the turkey bacon & egg white sandwich is 8 points. Good thing I burned almost 1,800 calories on the run!

Time to relax, foam roll & hit the grocery store for goods and more cough syrup! I hope everyone's new year is off to a great start!

i'm joining my marathon training friends for the second half of a 15 mile run (so I get to run about 7.5).

I like steamers too. Steamers are just milk though, right? So I would just calculate it based on it being just milk, FWIW.

Congrats on the run too!
