Arctic Ease Giveaway

I first came across Arctic Ease reading Trying is for Little Girls. What a smart idea I thought!

An ice pack in an ace-wrap type fabric that you can wrap around body parts like knees, ankles, arms etc.  Its reusable, requires no freezer or fridge, which makes it perfect for race traveling!

Here's a quick Fact from Arctic Ease
The optimal temperature for effective cold therapy is above 59° F (15°C).*

When skin temperatures go below that, tissue damage such as frost nip and frost bite can occur - it's one of the biggest risks associated with traditional ice therapy. And it's why you have to put ice on, then take it off - over and over again. Arctic Ease eliminates this inconvenience, reduces the risk and discomfort associated with temperature extremes and makes it easier to get relief from pain and swelling so you can get back to doing what you want to do.

You can keep the wrap on for 4-6 hours, as long as the wrap will stay cold!
As a runner, and a physical therapist, I thought this would be a great way to help soothe our aches and pains without the trouble of tying an ice pack to your leg & laying on the couch for 20-30 min. Instead you can wrap and go. You can put it on and do housework, or still lay on the couch if you want.

The fabulous folks at Arctic Ease sent me over a roll to test out. What do you think I did, I brought it to New Orleans with me for RnR! After the race, my right knee was achy (we all remember how it had been acting up the months before). While I laid in my post race coma on the hotel bed, I wrapped my knee up with my Arctic Ease.

The tough part, was with the crease of my knee moving around, the bandage rolled up a little at the top & bottom, so it didn't cover as much surface area as I would have liked. It was cold, but not as cold as I usually like it, however the benefit was that I could keep it on for longer. I also loved that I could travel with it, and reuse it after rehydrating the wrap. So while it probably won't replace my ice pack at home, it will be tucked into my suitcase for all my traveling races.

I too first learned of Artic Ease by reading Trying is for Little Girls. I, like you, thought GENIUS. My immediate thought when I read it was how fab would it be to take traveling since freezing isn't necessary and there is no liquid that will get the TSA all stressed out. I'm bummed to hear that it wasn't as perfect as my mental picture made it out to be, but I definitely still want to try it especially for the destination races.

I would love to try it because it seems so much friendlier than my ice pack with pea-sized bubbles that I currently use to help my knee with issues that have kept me from keeping that New Year's Resolution, which is driving me crazy!! I am doing other things like crunches and push-ups and yoga trying to get stuff into shape before a return to the gym since my knee has left me sidelined.

This sounds like a great addition to my travel bag. You never know when you'll need a cool wrap. I'm all for the "ease" of things.

This sounds great! I would love to try it for my knee. I've never had luck keeping an ice pack on my knee so this sounds like the perfect thing for it. Great giveaway!

Would love another try at it! Knee is not working right now and that would help!

I have never heard of it but would love to try it! I probably don't ice as much as I should just for the simple fact that it's hard to keep me still for 20 minutes! I've always got something to do, so being able to wrap the ice on would be perfect. I sometimes do wrap an ace bandage around the ice to be able to do other things, but would love to try this style out!

I would love to try this for my knee after long runs. I tried to put an ice pack on my knee after my last half marathon and my kids took turns knocking it off. This would be great.
