I'm in a shitty mood....

My running partner and I had planned on doing our long run monday instead of sunday since she had company all weekend. I took work off, and readjusted my schedule. Then I get a txt today saying that she decided to go running today instead. WTF?

For thanksgiving this year, we were supposed to be at my dad's house. My dad just let me know that this year instead of a dinner, they're taking everyone out to a resteraunt. That seems so non-thanksgiving to me. Now I'm worried I'll hurt my dad's feelings by eating at my mom's house instead.

Jumping on the bike trainer for an hour helped me feel a little better, but I'm still in this funk. My negative attitude & things surrounding it aren't helping either.

So, I'm here.
I'm trying.
words of encouragement welcome

Dont give in to your emotions. You did the right thing by getting on your trainer and riding girl. I know it is fustrating, but dont let what is happening deter you from your focus girl. You control your emotions. So say I'm going to be happy not matter what anyone throws my way. Hang in there Stepahine.

trainer therapy is always good. im in the school of thought to say what i feel and then move on. if you find it would be productive, let friend know how the sudden changeroo in plans made you feel.

its a finer line we walk with family but maybe a heart to heart with Dad (be kind!) would help him understand that you want to be home with family on turkey day??

anyway, chin up girl :) venting always makes me feel better!!

There's definitely been a funk in the air. That crazy storm and the time change certainly didn't help.

Yours is the only blog I know of from my area. We are both training for Disney and live just towns apart. I do most of my long runs on the weekend. Feel free to email if you ever want to run.

I hope you are able to spend Thanksgiving as you really want to. I totally understand your feelings about that.

I hope you feel better Stephanie.

We all have those days! Just enjoy your day off tomorrow and do your run by yourself! I hope the funk passes soon!

wow, what a giant dose of SUCK. I hate it when it feels like it's all coming down at once. I hope the bike helped at least get you out of the funk for a little while. Whenever I have those days, I give myself the day to feel like 'ugh'. The trick is not letting it wake up with you in the morning. Leave the negativity on your pillow tonight and everything will be awesome in the morning. I hope whatever you choose to do tomorrow - long run or No - goes well!

Long-time reader, finally commenting here...I totally get how much it all sucks right now. Like everyone else said, try to look at tomorrow as a new day, that you have off from work, and then go kick your run's ass! I think its your running partner's loss!

Its hard now, but if you keep your eye on the prize - the marathon, this will just be a bump in the road - trust me, I've had many along the way too! I'm sending positive thoughts your way!

Oh man, double bummer. Will you still be able to get your run in today alone?

Good luck deciding on Thanksgiving plans. :(

Oh wow. I am so sorry. I went through that kind of whenever my grandparents passed away! We always did Thanksgiving with them and then I had to figure out how to do Thanksgiving without them. It was difficult and still is to this day.

As for the running thing, if it makes you feel any better, then I am usually running on my own. I do not have a running partner. Possibly I will for my full I am running next december, but not right now!
