Gone for a RUN review!

Remember when I posted my Top 5 Gone for a RUN gift ideas, HERE?

Originally, the post was supposed to be a review of their amazing Bib Coasters, which I got to give to my brother as a christmas gift. Then I found out he read my blog... so I waited until after christmas to share his awesome gift.

I love all Gone for a RUN goodies, so when the Bib Coasters caught my eye, I was obsessed! It seemed like the perfect way to commemorate a memorable race bib in a functional way. Plus it would make for an excellent conversation starter/bragging tool. I started thinking about how I couldn't wait to get my Disney Marathon bib turned into coasters after I ran.

Then, as I started thinking of christmas gifts, I just knew that my brother would love it to show off to friends/remind him of how awesome he is for finishing his first marathon. With a little help from his girlfriend to secure a photo of the Hartford Marathon Race Bib (Read about my brother's journey to the marathon HERE), I emailed it to the folks at Gone for a RUN & waited for it to arrive!

my brother's bib in coasters!

The coasters are 4 separate 4x4 marble squares with a high quality print of your bib on the front. Arrange them like a puzzle, or spread the love and share them around the house to prevent rings on the wood tables. The back of the coasters is made from cork to protect your furniture. I love that they look slightly distressed with the natural crack or contoured surface of the marble underneath the print.

My brother loved the coasters!
christmas morning!
I also ordered him a Gone for a RUN ornament, that I had personalized with his Hartford Marathon time. I wish I had remembered to get a picture of his, but here it is on the website.

What else did I order for gifts from Gone for a RUN?

With the holidays creeping up, I wanted to come up with some great ideas for you to give your favorite runner/triathlete. So I teamed up with Ryan at Gone for a RUN, to come up with a top 5 list to help you attack your shopping list!

Top 5 Gone for a RUN Running Gifts!

Who doesn't love to show off their Race Bling!! Without a proper display, your marathon and half marathon memories may be limited to a desk drawer, a box, or tacked to the wall with a thumbtack. Hang them up in style and be proud of your accomplishment! These hangars are hand sculpted from medal, and over 24 medals can easily slip on. I have one of these on my shopping list for a certain running partner!

These cute hats are available in 3 colors and over 45 popular designs (you can even customize with your own quote). The ponytail opening is at the perfect spot for maximum comfort. The fold up front panel has the super cute quotes to keep you looking good and feeling comfortable. The beanie is made with RunTECHNOLOGY performance fabric to keep you warm, and wick away moisture. Perfect Stocking Stuffer!

This is the newest Gone for a RUN IDmeBAND Bracelet! These RunningLACE IDmeBANDs are fully adjustable to fit any wrsit. They are lightweight, comfortable and could save your life one day. An IDmeBAND is the most important piece of gear for an athlete with emergency contact information engraved on the slider. It reminds me of a fun summer camp bracelet, definitely one of the most fun ID bracelets I've seen. Another great Stocking Stuffer, or Secret Santa gift!

LightGUIDE LED bands provide the brightest security light for athletes and anyone who needs to be seen at night.  Other lights don't compare to LighGUIDE with its proprietary reflective material in addition to the brightest LED Hi-Vision Blue light technology.  From dusk to dawn this highly visible light band will let you be seen by motorists for well over a 1/4 mile away.  Each arm band is made of tough nylon which wraps comfortably and easily around your arm or leg and secured with Velcro™.  A press to operate battery pack allows you to select from 3 light modes, slow flash, fast flash and a constant light. Available in 3 sizes.  Batteries included. I'm adding this to my list!

Beautifully handcrafted runner ornaments make a great gift & keepsake (I have a few people on my list to buy them for). It's perfect for commemorating a race for your favorite runner! You can even personalize it with a name, race time, or message. How cute, I want one of my tree!

Ryan has offered to help you to tackle your holiday shopping (or self gift-giving), with a $20 giftcard for Gone for a RUN!

Back from DC!

I'm back from DC!

I promise to post pictures and the race recap soon. Today was a long day of travel. While traveling out of Boston got me a cheaper flight, the travel from Boston to home was longer than the flight from DC. Moral of the story is pay a little more to fly out of Bradley next time. I had a million things to do today and barely did any. I missed any chance of a workout, grocery shopping, and trip to the post office. I accomplished laundry, bed bath & beyond for a shower gift, working on my training schedule, and making dinner.

I hope everyone else had a good racing weekend, I can't wait to catch up on blog posts!

I've found it! (plus giveaways & winners!)

Saturday was my St. Pattys day 10K complete with the Tutu (race recap eventually).  After the race, I seriously thought about how I need to stay focused with my nutrition and really follow weight watchers to lose some of this weight. So sunday I had an awesome 80 min trainer ride while watching Jersey Shore, and today I spent the morning working on total immersion techniques at the pool & lifting. Then tonight, I pumped out another 58 min trainer ride while watching gossip girl. To top it off, my nutrition has been great all day, and I'm feeling really positive about staying on track this week!

In case you haven't noticed, I have a TON of giveaways going on right now!

The Bibfolio!

My Bibs from all my races were piling up in a corner of my office, collecting dust. What a great way to put all my memories in one place. It holds about 75 bibs, which for some of you, may not be enough, but for me was great. You can have it personalized with your name, and display it in a place to remind you of your accomplishments. Mine sits outside my bedroom door, by my race medals.

putting together my bibfolio!

Easy to put together! The front & back pieces along with the rings to hold my race bibs (see my New Orleans bib at the top of the pile?). The colors are bright, the materials are durable, and I absolutely love it!

Here it is, in its home!
