I just got an email that my credit card was charged, and I double checked my online banking... it looks like I made the lottery for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler!! Which means my brother will be coming too, since we had started a group. I'm not sure if any of my other friends had signed up, but I am WICKED excited!!
Today is disgusting out. I had already decided that I would run outside if it were snowing, but it was raining. I hate rain. So I went to the gym since long run this week was only 8 miles. Knee started hurting around mile 5 or so. I did have the new shoes on, I just know the IT band is to blame (mental note to roll it after posting this).
Almost done with christmas shopping, just a couple things to pick up, and waiting for a few more to arrive by mail. I've also ordered myself a couple things.

I need to not only be thinking about the half marathons in february, but for the triathlon season ahead of me! I didn't take swimming as seriously as I could have for my first Tri. I'm a fairly strong swimmer to begin with, I placed in the top 10% of the swim, so I imagine how kick ass I could be with some practice. And with my dreams of an olympic tri this summer and a 70.3 somewhere down the line, I need to be making the best use of the off season now. Strength training is something that I always neglect, so I am hoping for this to jump start things as well.
Eating has been sub par, I haven't been tracking my weight watchers points. I am really going to try tomorrow. I made a delicious acorn squash soup for dinner tonight. Im craving something sweet, but I think I'll settle for a popsicle.
Since miszippy didn't email me with her Inperspire towel choice, I picked a new winner. The Running Green Girl! hooray email me at sgrigely at hotmail dot com with your address and towel choice!

The weather is super nasty here, too - ugh! Good book choices - I am hitting the pool twice a week myself, trying to get in shape for a sprint triathlon in the spring.
Congrats on getting in. "C" and I were in the lottery, but didn't get selected . . . this time. The course is absolutely beautiful. When I lived in VA I was able to watch the race several times. Good luck - have fun. I'm sooo jealous!
I LOVE Cherry Blossom! It's an awesome race and super fast course--good for PRs! You will love it. The only reason I am not doing it this year is that it's two weeks out from Boston and I knew I wouldn't be able to keep myself in check there. Next time.
I just got that strength training book from the library and can't wait to read it! Like you, I need to work on my swimming now too!
I love what you got yourself for treats :D
