2012 Review!

A lot has happened over the past year,

here's a quick look back

I went to Disney to run my first full marathon

Despite my horrible sickness, I managed to finish with the help of my brother.

And then celebrated on a cruise to the bahamas

Did I mention, my mom finished her first half marathon?

and my brother killed the Goofy Challenge?

My roomie and I tried a 3 day green smoothie diet, which was a horrible idea, and only lasted 1 day.

I went back to DC....

This time I was with Kevin, S and her boyfriend.

We ran RnR DC on St Pattys Day!

Then headed to the bars to celebrate!

I got my Team Tough Chik gear!

I ran Run with Jess' Jelly Bean Virtual 5K!

In may, I went to the beginning of the season Sox games

Mothers Day weekend, I used my headlamp to install a backsplash.

We went to a Sox game at the top of the Green Monster.

And ran Boston's Run to Remember on Memorial Day weekend.

We celebrated my roomie's 25th birthday at Mohegan Sun Casino

My little sister graduated from High School!

In June, we headed to the cape for some beach time, and cycling

I finished my first Olympic Distance triathlon from hell in hilly Litchfield Hills.

I got to meet some fellow bloggers at the Sports Hooks booth at RnR Providence.

And finished my 10th half marathon at RnR Providence! (and totally skipped writing a race report!)

I went to Newport with my girls

And all the while was training for the biggest race of my life...

70.3

I had the best day of my life and beat my time goal of 8 hours,

And I can now call myself a half ironman finisher!

We celebrated a few weeks later with an amazing cruise on the Allure of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's biggest ship.

We celebrated a lot of things... like my 70.3 finish.... and setting our wedding date!

We left from Florida, and went to Labadee, Jamaica, and Cozumel!

I celebrated my 30th birthday for the entire month of november

And took some fabulous engagement pictures with my honey...

We celebrated our 8 year anniversary on December 2nd!

I kicked off the holidays with my work besties at our christmas party!

And I'm heading out tomorrow to Mohegan Sun Casino for a fun filled New Years Eve...

What's ahead...

I have some housekeeping to get to on this blog.

I have prizes to mail out (sorry if you haven't gotten yours yet!), and new winners to pick. I have lots of updating, and organizing to do. Workout planning needs to take place. 

Don't you wish there were more hours in a day?

Overall, the last year has been a bit crazy, and I know my blogging was sidelined for a bit. One of my big goals for the new year is to get back to blogging.

I'm working on my 2012 recap and my review of my 2012 goals and setting of 2013 goals. This is going to be a big year coming up!

Run My A$$ Off & a winner!

I think my Tough Chik teammate Jess said it perfectly on her blog Run with Jess, when talking about Holiday weight gain...

"Every year, it starts with Halloween... the slow re-entry of candy into our house (and my belly). Then comes Thanksgiving with the big heavy meals and relaxing drinks (oh' sweet Baileys and Pumpkin Pie Liqueur...) Finally, the nearly month long Christmas... sweet treats everywhere you go, endless social gatherings and reduced exercise time. What was your net holiday gain?  All the holiday joy made made my heart swell. Unfortunately, so did my tummy..."

Yikes.

I had been doing so well with Jillian! I'd lost inches and pounds, but now I feel like a bloated puffball. That is why I'm joining her challenge.

I'm going to put my money where my mouth is. $10 in the pot to lose 4% of my body weight. If I do all 3 rounds, that could be 12% gone! Maybe money on the line is just what I need to stay focused!
