Another couple of reasons: You're training for a marathon and you want to get some race experience or it's your long run for the week. :)Raquelitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13138113830990586689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2714863914746717724.post-84681722550839539082011-08-26T11:12:15.228-04:002011-08-26T11:12:15.228-04:00I didn't realize you were in Hartford. For me, I was a bit shocked that I had the ability within myself to create a 19 week training plan and seeing it through to the end . . . I honestly wasn't sure that I had that inside myself. Now, I've been on a constant training plan since February - 19 weeks - ha! I so got this!!!!
I continue to do halfs because I get to travel! I LOVE going to new places with my friends - the mini long weekend vacations are just FUN! I also continue to do halfs because if I didn't - I would NEVER go out for a 12 mile run - they would definitely be more like 3 miles- HA!
Great job girl!!!!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15432550406970940247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2714863914746717724.post-50432105447155386962011-08-26T08:46:15.176-04:002011-08-26T08:46:15.176-04:00I ran the Hartford ING Half Marathon last year. The water stations were plentiful and had both water and Gatorade. The route was mostly flat. The after party was fun and very family friendly. I'm not a beer drinker but the beer tent seemed to be a huge hit. There were even computers where you could view your official finish time.

Running races is such a great way to travel. My family is enjoying all the new places we get to go. Hartford was more local for us, but we're heading to Disney in January for my first full marathon. I was adamant about never running a marathon. I wholeheartedly believed that I had no interest nor did I think I could actually do it. Then I ran the Hartford half and somewhere between the start and the finish I had already decided that I was definitely going to run a full marathon!!

Have a great time! I look forward to reading both of your recaps.Aimeehttp://amazinginmotion.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
